A palm berry lipid extract already contributes beta-sitosterol as part of its unsaponifiable fraction, so adding an isolated sterol raises total sterol intake rather than introducing a new component. Formulators sometimes standardise to sterol content for exactly this reason. Whether the sterol fraction or the fatty acid fraction drives any observed effect has not been settled. The ambiguity of the source name here makes the sterol content itself uncertain.
The pairing is formulation convention in men's products rather than a demonstrated interaction between the two. Zinc has its own established cofactor roles independent of any palm constituent.
