How it feels
Most people describe no distinct sensation. In traditional use it is judged by the whole formula over weeks rather than by anything you notice within an hour.

The part doing the nutritional work is the connective tissue. Digested, it is a glycine and proline source, the same amino acids collagen powders are sold for.

Gecko + Collagen PeptidesDried gecko is a connective-tissue-rich animal material, so its protein fraction overlaps heavily with collagen and gelatin. Both supply glycine, proline and hydroxyproline after digestion. This is compositional overlap, not a demonstrated combined effect.

Whole dried lizard tissue is mostly skin, bone and connective tissue, which means collagen-type protein dominates the amino acid profile. Taken alongside collagen peptides the two contribute the same amino acids to the same pool. No human study has measured the pair together. Read this as compositional, not clinical.

Gecko + Vitamin CAscorbate is the required cofactor for prolyl and lysyl hydroxylase, the enzymes that hydroxylate proline and lysine residues during collagen assembly.

Gecko-derived protein delivers proline and lysine, but the body cannot hydroxylate those residues without ascorbate on board. The cofactor relationship is settled biochemistry and is independent of any claimed effect of the animal material itself. The pairing matters only if vitamin C intake is marginal. It is not evidence that the animal material does anything.

Gecko + GlycineGlycine occupies every third position in the collagen triple helix and is the most abundant residue in connective tissue protein. Supplemental glycine and connective-tissue protein feed the same free amino acid pool.

Dried lizard material is connective-tissue heavy, so glycine is already its dominant amino acid. Adding free glycine raises the same pool through a faster-absorbed route. The overlap is nutritional arithmetic rather than a synergy in the pharmacological sense.

Gecko + ZincAnimal-tissue matrices carry zinc bound in protein, and zinc absorption is generally higher from animal protein than from plant matrices because peptide digestion releases it without competing phytate.

Peptides released during digestion of animal tissue keep zinc soluble in the small intestine, the same mechanism that makes meat a better zinc vehicle than grain. Whether dried gecko contributes meaningful zinc has not been characterised in any quantitative study available here. The mechanism is general to animal protein, not specific to this species.

Gecko + IronHeme iron from animal tissue uses a different intestinal uptake route than non-heme iron and is not blocked by phytate or polyphenols.

Whole dried animal preparations contain residual muscle and organ tissue, which carries heme iron. Heme is taken up intact rather than competing at DMT1, so it sidesteps the inhibitors that limit plant iron. The amount present in a typical dried-gecko dose has not been quantified in the sources available, so counting it as an iron source is not supportable.

Gecko + Ginseng PanaxTraditional East Asian formulation practice pairs dried gecko with ginseng in tonic preparations. This is a documented pairing convention, not a tested pharmacological interaction.

Historical formularies place the two together in the same tonic category, which is why commercial preparations often carry both. No controlled work has separated the contribution of either component. The pairing is convention, and it should be described that way rather than as a mechanism.
