Insect wax on its own is a hard, hydrophobic solid that will not disperse in water. Phospholipid emulsifiers are what allow it to be carried into a cream, a coating or a chewable base. The pairing is manufacturing chemistry rather than anything that happens inside the body.
Blending a high-melting wax with a liquid medium-chain triglyceride gives a semi-solid whose firmness can be dialled by the ratio. This is how oleogels and softgel fill matrices are built. The wax controls structure, the oil controls flow.
Any lipid matrix held at melting temperature during manufacture is exposed to oxidation. Tocopherols are the conventional protection added at that point. The benefit is to the material, not to the person taking it.
Wax matrices are used to encapsulate oxidation-sensitive fat-soluble compounds, forming a physical barrier that slows contact with oxygen. Carotenoids are among the most common payloads because they degrade quickly when exposed. The wax is the container, and it contributes nothing nutritional itself.
