Attributing a physiological effect to the jasmine rather than the tea is a common attribution error worth naming. The pairing itself is centuries-old manufacturing practice.

Jasmine + L-TheanineJasmine tea is a green tea base, and green tea leaf is the primary dietary source of theanine, so the two arrive together in every cup of scented tea.

Theanine comes from the Camellia sinensis leaf, not the jasmine flower. In a jasmine tea the calm-alert character people describe is more plausibly the theanine plus caffeine ratio than the aroma. The distinction matters when a supplement sells jasmine as the active.

Jasmine + LavenderBoth are used as aromatic materials where linalool is a major volatile constituent, so combining them raises total linalool exposure through the same inhaled and dermal routes.

Linalool is the shared compound and it is the one most often invoked for calming effects from either plant. Stacking two linalool-rich aromatics is additive by simple chemistry. Aroma exposure is not the same as an oral dose, and effects reported in aromatherapy work are typically small and short-lived.

Jasmine + ChamomileBoth are traditional evening aromatics used in the same preparations, and both are commonly combined in tea blends where the sensory profile rather than a pharmacological interaction drives the pairing.

This is a blending convention with long use behind it. Chamomile carries apigenin, which has documented receptor binding, while jasmine's contribution is largely aromatic. Calling the combination synergistic overstates what is known. Read it as complementary rather than mechanistically joined.

Jasmine + CaffeineBecause jasmine tea is scented green tea, a jasmine tea product delivers caffeine unless it has been specifically decaffeinated, which catches people who chose it expecting a caffeine-free floral infusion.

The caffeine comes entirely from the tea leaf. A jasmine flower infusion made without tea leaf carries none. Anyone sensitive to caffeine or drinking it in the evening should check whether the product is tea-based or flower-only. This is a labelling issue more than a pharmacological one.

Jasmine + IronThe green tea base of jasmine tea is rich in catechins and tannins, which bind non-heme iron in the gut lumen and reduce its absorption when consumed with a meal.

Polyphenol binding of non-heme iron is settled nutrition chemistry and applies to any tea. Separating tea from an iron-containing meal or an iron supplement by an hour or two limits it. Again the responsible party is the tea leaf, not the flower. People with low iron status should be aware of the timing.

Where Jasmine comes from.

Jasmine is a night-blooming flower picked before dawn because that is when it smells strongest. Two very different things get sold under the name. Jasmine tea is green tea that has slept next to the flowers until it picked up the smell, and the flowers are then thrown away, so what you are actually drinking is green tea. Jasmine absolute is the concentrated scent, made with solvent because heat wrecks it, and it belongs in perfume rather than in a capsule. One warning that matters: yellow jessamine is not jasmine at all and is genuinely dangerous, so know which plant you have.

Made from a plant. What ends up in the capsule tracks the harvest, so batch testing and a stated marker matter more here than with a made molecule.
