SNAP-8 is a short, water-soluble peptide that sits in the aqueous phase of a serum, the same phase hyaluronic acid occupies. Hyaluronic acid holds water at the surface, which keeps the film hydrated while the peptide is in contact with skin. This is a vehicle and sensory pairing; it is not evidence that either ingredient improves the other's activity.
Niacinamide is stable near neutral pH, the same window peptides need, so the two coexist in one water phase without forcing a pH compromise. Their described mechanisms are unrelated, which is why they are combined rather than substituted. No study of the pair exists in the evidence available here.
Ceramides are structural lipids of the stratum corneum and are used to support normal barrier function, a different target from a signal peptide. Because they live in the lipid phase, they do not compete with a water-phase peptide for space in the formula. The pairing is compositional, not mechanistic.
