Piperine inhibits intestinal glucuronidation and several CYP isoforms, which raises the plasma exposure of plant compounds cleared by those routes. The two act on different systems, which is the usual argument for combining them rather than doubling one. Human data exists for each herb alone, far less for the pair. Bacoside-standardised extracts show their reported effects only after several weeks of daily use. Pairing them means something is happening on day one while the slower ingredient accumulates. Bacopa extract carries saponins and polyphenols that complex divalent cations in the intestinal lumen. Less iron is presented to the transporter as a result. Spacing an iron dose a couple of hours away is the standard answer. This concerns absorption chemistry, not iron status outcomes.
Bacoside A and B are triterpenoid saponin glycosides. Deglycosylation by intestinal and bacterial glucosidase activity generates the aglycones, which are the more membrane-permeable species. Enzyme and microbial capacity therefore sit between the label dose and what circulates. The practical size of this is unmeasured.

The bacosides it's standardized to are a group of saponin-type compounds, mainly bacoside A, which is itself a mix of several related compounds rather than one substance.
