All iron in a plant powder is non-heme, and non-heme iron absorption is heavily dependent on what else is in the meal. Ascorbate in the same sitting keeps it reduced and counters phytate binding. This is the single most reliable lever on plant iron uptake.
Calcium blunts non-heme iron absorption when the two arrive together. Hydrilla verticillata powders promote both minerals from one source, so the interaction is built into the ingredient. Separating a calcium supplement from the plant powder by several hours sidesteps most of it.

Taken together in high doses without food, zinc and non-heme iron reduce each other's uptake. Food blunts it. For anyone using a plant biomass powder as a main mineral source, spacing zinc away from it is the practical move.
Aquatic biomass concentrates dissolved metals from its growing water, so stacking two such products stacks one exposure route instead of spreading risk. It also stacks the same limited mineral bioavailability rather than adding a complementary source. Batch heavy metal testing on each is what makes the combination defensible.
Carotenoids in plant tissue are lipophilic and are absorbed poorly from a fat-free meal. Taking a green biomass powder with a meal containing fat raises carotenoid uptake substantially. Nothing about this is specific to hydrilla, which is exactly why it is reliable.
