Crateva bark is used traditionally for urinary comfort, and magnesium acts on the same fluid by keeping oxalate in solution. The mechanism for magnesium is settled chemistry. The mechanism for the herb is traditional use rather than measured pharmacology. Read the pairing as complementary intent, not as a demonstrated combined effect.

Three-Leaf-Caper + PotassiumPotassium salts raise urinary citrate, and citrate binds calcium in urine.

Raising urinary citrate is one of the better characterised ways to change urine chemistry, and potassium salts do it reliably. Pairing that with a traditional urinary botanical puts a measured mechanism next to an unmeasured one. The potassium half is where the evidence sits.

Three-Leaf-Caper + Vitamin B6 pyridoxinePyridoxal-5-phosphate is the cofactor for alanine-glyoxylate aminotransferase, the enzyme that diverts glyoxylate away from oxalate synthesis.

Without adequate B6 the transaminase step slows and more glyoxylate is oxidised to oxalate instead. That is textbook enzymology and holds regardless of what else is in the formula. It explains why B6 turns up alongside urinary botanicals rather than being an interaction with the herb itself.

Three-Leaf-Caper + Beta-sitosterolShared structural class: both are plant-derived isoprenoid lipids handled through the same intestinal lipid pathways.

Crateva bark already contains phytosterols alongside its triterpenes, so adding sitosterol extends a fraction the plant supplies natively. Both depend on mixed micelle formation for uptake, which is why they behave similarly with a fatty meal. The overlap is in absorption route rather than in target.

Three-Leaf-Caper + Black pepper extract bioperinePiperine inhibits intestinal UDP-glucuronosyltransferase and CYP3A4, slowing first-pass conjugation of several plant lipophiles.

Piperine's effect on glucuronidation is well documented for curcumin and has been shown for other phenolics and triterpenes in laboratory systems. Whether it changes lupeol exposure specifically has not been measured. The same mechanism slows clearance of unrelated medicines, which is the trade-off attached to it.

Three-Leaf-Caper + CalciumEstablished urinary chemistry: dietary calcium taken with meals binds oxalate in the gut and lowers oxalate absorption, while isolated high-dose calcium away from food does not do the same thing.

Calcium timing changes the direction of the effect, which is the part people usually get backwards. Taken with a meal it intercepts oxalate in the gut. Taken alone between meals it does not. Anyone combining calcium with a urinary botanical should be clear which of the two they are doing.
