Thymic peptide hormones are biologically active only when bound to zinc, which is why thymulin activity tracks zinc status closely. Adequate zinc is the background condition any thymic peptide preparation depends on.

Thymalin + SeleniumEstablished: selenoproteins including the glutathione peroxidases and thioredoxin reductases operate in lymphocytes.

Selenium is built into selenoproteins that manage peroxide handling inside dividing cells, and lymphocyte proliferation is a redox-demanding process. Thymic peptides act on the maturation of those same cells. The two therefore support normal immune cell development from different angles, cofactor supply on one side and signalling on the other. No trial of the pair is cited here.

Thymalin + Vitamin AEstablished: retinoic acid signalling is required for normal thymocyte development and lymphocyte differentiation.

Retinoic acid acts through nuclear retinoic acid receptors that regulate genes in developing thymocytes and in T cell subset differentiation. Lymphocytes consume glutamine at high rates for energy, nucleotide synthesis and glutathione production during proliferation. Thymalin + Betaine HClEstablished peptide pharmacology: gastric acid and pepsin activity determine how intact a peptide reaches the intestine.

Betaine hydrochloride is taken to lower gastric pH, which is exactly the condition that activates pepsin and accelerates proteolysis. An orally taken peptide fraction is a pepsin substrate. Adding acid support therefore works against oral delivery of the peptide, not for it. Direction here is negative and worth stating plainly.
