What Buddha's Hand is, and what it does.

Does it work
It suits cooks and people who want citrus peel aromatics and pectin. If vitamin C is what you're after, a juicing citrus gives you much more per fruit.
How much to take
No daily amount is on record. In cooking, the zest of one fruit flavours a whole dish, and the peel is where the oil, pectin and flavanones sit.
Time to feel it
The aroma is immediate. Pectin's effect on digestion builds over the days you keep eating it, and nobody has timed the flavanones in people.

Mostly a sensory day: strong lemon-floral aroma, bitter-sweet peel. Pectin can make a meal feel a little fuller.
With regular use
Weeks of regular peel intake add soluble fibre that colonic bacteria ferment. Flavanone intake rises, though nobody has measured what that adds up to for this cultivar.
How well tolerated
Eaten as food it is well tolerated. Cold-pressed peel oil can carry photosensitising coumarins, so keep it off skin before sun exposure and dilute it properly.
How it feels
Intensely floral citrus, sweet on the nose and bitter on the tongue. The felt part is the aroma. The rest is quiet.
The overlooked benefit
The pith most people discard is the pectin. That white albedo gels in water and feeds gut bacteria, which is the part still working after the smell fades.

Citrus flavanones and ascorbate co-occur in the fruit and regenerate one another in the aqueous phase. Buddha's hand is unusual among citrus in being almost all peel and pith, so the flavonoid share is high relative to the juice-borne ascorbate. This is redox chemistry measured on markers, not a clinical result.
