Candelilla wax structures liquid oils into a semi-solid at a few percent by weight, which is how wax-based oleogels are built. In a supplement context that matters when an oil carrier has to stay put inside a capsule, a chew or a bar rather than migrating or leaking. The wax contributes structure, not activity. The oil remains the thing being delivered.
Lecithin lowers interfacial tension and keeps droplets dispersed, while candelilla wax raises the yield stress of the continuous oil phase. Used together they slow droplet coalescence and separation on the shelf. Neither one substitutes for the other. This is a manufacturing pairing with no expected effect on the person taking the product.
Beta-carotene dissolves in the oil phase and the wax network holds that phase in place, which reduces the surface area exposed to air compared with a free oil. Wax coatings on beadlets serve the same purpose in glazed and coated products. The wax does not change how much carotenoid is absorbed by itself. It changes how much survives to be swallowed.
Coenzyme Q10 dissolves poorly in water and is normally presented in a lipid vehicle. Candelilla wax lets that vehicle be a soft solid instead of a free oil, which suits chews and pressed formats. The absorption gain, when there is one, comes from the lipid rather than from the wax. The wax is the scaffold.
Tocopherol partitions into the lipid phase and interrupts lipid peroxidation chains there. Candelilla wax itself is largely saturated hydrocarbon and ester material and is not the fragile component, but the oil it structures usually is. The pairing protects the carrier system. It is not an interaction inside the body.
Astaxanthin needs a lipid phase to disperse in and degrades on exposure to oxygen, heat and light. A wax-set matrix limits diffusion of oxygen through the carrier and lets the product hold shape at room temperature. Whether this changes the delivered dose depends on the specific process and the packaging. It is a stability argument, not an absorption claim.

Harvested stems are boiled in water acidified with sulphuric acid, which releases the surface wax so it floats and can be skimmed.
