Zinc is concentrated in seminal fluid and is required for normal spermatogenesis and for the activity of several enzymes in that tissue, which is settled physiology independent of any plant. Massularia acuminata is used traditionally in West Africa in male tonic preparations, so blends routinely pair the two. The reasoning is sound and the human data for the pairing does not exist.
Arginine is the substrate for nitric oxide synthesis, which governs vascular smooth muscle relaxation, and traditional male tonic botanicals are usually formulated alongside it on that basis. The arginine half of this pairing rests on well-mapped enzymology. The plant half rests on traditional use and animal studies. Keep the two levels of evidence separate when reading a label that combines them.
