No study gave these as a pair, so they are not in the card above. But the reason they belong together is settled biochemistry, not a guess, so it is worth knowing.
Mogrosides and steviol glycosides both act at the T1R2/T1R3 sweet receptor but with different binding and time profiles. Blending them raises perceived sweetness at a lower total dose and masks the lingering aftertaste each has alone.
Monk fruit gives a quick front-of-palate sweetness while steviol glycosides linger. Formulators combine them so the sweetness curve resembles sugar more closely.
Mogrosides are hundreds of times sweeter than sugar, so they contribute no bulk or mouthfeel. Inulin supplies the body and slight background sweetness that a sugar-free formula otherwise lacks, and it ferments as a prebiotic fibre.
Berberine is intensely bitter, which limits how it can be delivered in powders and chewables. Sweet receptor activation from mogrosides suppresses bitter perception centrally, which is standard practice in formulation.
Protein powders need sweetening to be palatable, and mogrosides supply that at negligible mass and no carbohydrate load. This is long-standing formulation practice rather than a physiological interaction.
Mogroside V is several hundred times sweeter than sucrose by weight, so a few milligrams cannot fill a teaspoon. Erythritol supplies the bulk, mouthfeel and browning behaviour that the intense sweetener cannot, which is why most retail monk fruit products are mostly erythritol. Erythritol is largely absorbed in the small intestine and excreted in urine, so it ferments less than other polyols.
Inulin adds bulk, a slight sweetness and body to a monk fruit blend while also serving as a fermentable fibre. The trade-off is that it is fully fermented in the colon, which produces gas at higher servings. That is a formulation choice with a tolerance cost attached.
FOS carries mild sweetness and bulk and is fermented by colonic bacteria, so it does double duty in a sweetener blend. Combining it with mogrosides gives sweetness without the sugar load. Fermentable means gas, so start at a low serving.
Removing sugar removes viscosity as well as sweetness, and glucomannan restores body in drinks and gels. The pairing solves a texture problem, not a metabolic one. Glucomannan swells with water and should be taken with adequate fluid.
Casein's flavour profile and thick mouthfeel need a sweetener that holds through a long finish, which is where mogrosides are used. The same aftertaste caveat applies. A formulation reason, with no metabolic claim attached.
Catechins are markedly bitter and astringent, and intense sweeteners are the standard means of making a concentrated extract drinkable. Mogrosides do this without adding fermentable carbohydrate. Sensory only; no effect on catechin absorption is claimed.
Curcuminoid preparations carry a strong earthy bitterness in drink formats, and monk fruit is used to make them palatable. It is a flavour decision with no effect on curcumin's absorption problem. Do not let a formulation pairing read as a bioavailability claim.
Root extracts have a bitter, horse-like note that is the main barrier to drinkable formats. Monk fruit covers it without sugar. Formulation only.
Sodium and potassium salts at functional levels taste sharply salty and metallic, and a sweetener is what makes an electrolyte drink drinkable enough to finish. Mogrosides do this with no carbohydrate load. Potassium chloride in particular carries a bitter note that intense sweeteners only partly cover.
Creatine is faintly bitter and gritty in water, and daily adherence depends on the drink being tolerable. Monk fruit is used for that without adding sugar. It does not affect creatine uptake, which depends on the sodium-dependent transporter rather than on the drink's flavour.
Gymnemic acids block the sweet taste receptor on the tongue, which is why chewing gymnema leaf temporarily abolishes the perception of sweetness. Taken close together, gymnema will suppress the sweetness a mogroside is there to provide. A direct sensory conflict, not a metabolic one.
Cinnamon is used to round out the lingering finish of intense sweeteners and to add perceived sweetness without sugar. The pairing is a flavour-house convention. No metabolic interaction is implied.
Mogrosides are used at milligram levels and add essentially no fermentable substrate, unlike a sugar or a polyol, which matters in a live-culture product where you do not want fermentation in the pack. This is a stability and formulation argument. It says nothing about probiotic efficacy.
Chromium appears in the same blood sugar support category as non-nutritive sweeteners and works through a different route, as a component of chromodulin affecting insulin receptor signalling. Products aimed at people watching sugar intake often carry both. There is no combination study and no shared mechanism.
Psyllium drinks are bland and gelatinous, and adherence depends on flavour. Monk fruit sweetens without adding fermentable carbohydrate to a fibre product. Take psyllium with plenty of water regardless of what it is flavoured with.
