Where Snail Mucin comes from.

Snails are put on a clean surface in a dark quiet room and the trail they leave behind is collected. That liquid is spun and filtered to remove bits, preserved so it does not spoil, and then either bottled as is or freeze-dried into a powder. The species of snail and what it was fed change what is in the trail, so filtrate from two suppliers is not the same stuff. And a big number on the front of a bottle tells you how much filtrate went in, not how strong the filtrate was.
