Where Blue Vervain comes from.

It is a plant. The leaves, stems and flower tops are cut, dried and ground. To make a liquid or powder, the dried herb is soaked in a mix of alcohol and water so the active plant compounds come out, then the liquid is filtered and either bottled or dried into a powder that goes into capsules.
