Phenolic and coumestan constituents carry the hydroxyl groups that bind ferric iron and form poorly absorbed complexes. This is established chemistry for polyphenol-rich plant material generally and applies here by class. Anyone taking an iron supplement should space it a couple of hours from a concentrated Eclipta extract. The effect is on absorption, which is a measured step and not the same as an effect on iron status.

Wedelolactone and the flavonoids in Eclipta are subject to fast glucuronidation, the same clearance route piperine inhibits. Adding piperine to a botanical blend is standard practice for that reason. The direction is predictable from the mechanism. The magnitude for these specific constituents has not been measured. More exposure also means more of whatever unwanted effects the extract carries.

Eclipta + BiotinCo-formulated in hair and nail products. Biotin has an established role as a carboxylase cofactor independent of Eclipta.

Eclipta is the flagship traditional hair botanical in Ayurveda and biotin is the flagship modern hair nutrient, so they end up in the same bottle constantly. Biotin's role as a carboxylase cofactor is settled biochemistry but only matters where status is genuinely low. The two act through unrelated routes, so the pairing is complementary rather than synergistic. It is formulation convention with a reasonable logic.

Eclipta + Coconut oilTraditional preparation route: Eclipta is simmered in coconut or sesame oil to make bhringraj taila for scalp application.

The classical preparation is an oil infusion, which pulls the lipophilic constituents out of the plant into the fat phase. That is a genuine extraction step, not just a carrier choice. It also determines what ends up in a topical product, since water-soluble constituents largely stay behind. The route is traditional and well documented. Effects on hair have not been established in controlled human work.

Eclipta + Turmeric curcuminCommon Ayurvedic co-formulation. Both are lipophilic-constituent botanicals with similar delivery limitations.

Both are staples of Ayurvedic preparation and both suffer from poorly absorbed key constituents that get conjugated quickly. Formulators handle them the same way, with lipid vehicles and piperine. That shared handling is the main practical link between them. No combination data exists in people.

Eclipta + Vitamin CAscorbate regenerates oxidised phenolic radicals, a redox relationship that applies to Eclipta's phenolic constituents by class.

The coumestan and flavonoid constituents in Eclipta become phenoxyl radicals after quenching a radical, and ascorbate can reduce them back. This recycling is standard antioxidant network chemistry and is not specific to this plant. It supports co-formulation on chemical grounds. It does not by itself support any outcome claim.
