Capsaicinoids act at the TRPV1 channel and raise sympathetic outflow, while caffeine blocks adenosine receptors and slows catecholamine breakdown. The two arrive at a similar end point, a modest rise in resting energy expenditure, from different receptors. Because both nudge heart rate and blood pressure upward, the pairing is one to keep an eye on rather than one to stack freely.
EGCG inhibits catechol-O-methyltransferase, which slows the clearance of noradrenaline, and capsaicinoids increase its release through TRPV1 signalling. Release plus slowed breakdown is the reason the two appear together in thermogenic formulas. The combined effect on energy expenditure in people is small and the size of it varies between reports.
Capsaicinoids are lipophilic and dissolve readily in medium-chain triglycerides but poorly in water. A lipid carrier keeps the actives in solution through the gut and gives a more consistent dispersion than a dry powder in an empty stomach. This is a delivery relationship, not an added biological effect.
Lecithin emulsifies capsaicinoid oleoresin so it disperses in an aqueous gut environment instead of separating. It is the same emulsifier role it plays for other oil-soluble botanicals. Read it as a formulation aid rather than as a partner with its own activity here.
Piperine and capsaicin both bind the TRPV1 channel, so a formula carrying the two engages the same receptor from two directions. Piperine also slows several intestinal and hepatic metabolising enzymes, which is why it appears alongside so many botanicals. Sensory heat and gastric warmth stack as well, which matters for tolerability.
Ginger's pungent principles act at the same vanilloid receptor family that capsaicinoids do. The pairing is a long-standing culinary one and shows up in warming formulas for that reason. Human data for the combination is thin, so this reads as mechanistic overlap rather than a measured effect.
Carnitine shuttles long-chain fatty acids into mitochondria, and capsaicinoid signalling increases the release of fatty acids from storage. In principle one supplies substrate and the other supports its transport. No combination trial grounds this, so it stays a mechanistic proposal.
Chromium is commonly formulated alongside capsaicinoids in blends aimed at normal glucose handling. Chromium's role relates to insulin signalling and capsaicinoids act through sensory nerve pathways, so the two are separate mechanisms sitting in one capsule. The pairing is formulation convention, and the evidence for an additive effect is not there.
Both curcuminoids and capsaicinoids need a lipid or emulsified vehicle to disperse well, so they share a carrier system in practice. Formulating them together solves one delivery problem twice. This is a formulation observation and not evidence of a biological interaction.
Theanine is associated with a calmer subjective state at doses used in stimulant blends, while capsaicinoids raise sympathetic activity. Formulators pair them to soften the stimulated feel of a thermogenic. Whether theanine blunts any of the metabolic effect has not been measured.

Capsaicinoids are the pungent alkylamides of Capsicum fruit, with capsaicin and dihydrocapsaicin making up most of the total in a standardised extract.
Capsaicin binds TRPV1, a non-selective cation channel on sensory nerve endings that also responds to heat and to low pH; binding opens the channel and produces the sensation of warmth.
Capsaicinoids are lipophilic and poorly water-soluble, so absorption depends on dispersion in a lipid or emulsified phase rather than on gastric dissolution.
Direct contact between free capsaicinoid and the gastric mucosa is what produces burning and reflux sensations; controlled-release beadlets exist to move dissolution past the stomach.
Where Capsimax (Capsaicinoids) comes from.
It starts as chilli fruit. The hot-tasting oils are pulled out with a solvent or with pressurised carbon dioxide, measured so every batch carries the same strength, and often sealed into tiny beads so they open past the stomach rather than in it.
Made from a plant. What ends up in the capsule tracks the harvest, so batch testing and a stated marker matter more here than with a made molecule.

The dried fruit is extracted with a food-grade solvent or with supercritical carbon dioxide to pull the lipophilic capsaicinoid fraction into an oily concentrate.
Residual solvent is stripped and the oleoresin concentrated; residual solvent limits are the routine specification point here.
The concentrate is assayed, usually by HPLC, and blended to a declared total capsaicinoid percentage so that a stated dose means the same thing batch to batch.
