Glycerol distributes through body water and raises osmolality, which pulls fluid in and slows its loss through the kidney. Sodium drives the same retention through a different osmotic route, so the two together hold more of an ingested fluid load than either alone.
Glycerol is normally dosed with a full electrolyte load and a set fluid volume, because the osmotic pull only translates into retained body water when the accompanying salts are there. Glycerol on its own with plain water is the weaker pairing.
Glycerol is the three-carbon backbone that carries the fatty acids in any triglyceride, including MCT oil. In a finished product the two also sit together as the polar and non-polar halves of a liquid fill. Glycerin does not add medium-chain fatty acids of its own; it is the carrier chemistry underneath them.
Concentrated fish oils are often produced as ethyl esters and then re-esterified onto glycerol to return them to a triglyceride form. Glycerin is the backbone in that step rather than an added active. On a label the two appear separately, though chemically one is built on the other.

Lecithin emulsifies the oil phase while glycerin holds water in the aqueous phase, which keeps a suspension from separating. The phospholipids in lecithin are themselves glycerol-based. The pairing is formulation convention rather than a physiological effect.
Glycerin lowers the glass transition of shell and chew matrices so they stay pliable, and lecithin keeps the fill dispersed. Neither changes the other's absorption. Read this as manufacturing chemistry rather than a nutritional interaction.
CoQ10 is poorly water soluble and is normally suspended in an oil vehicle. Glycerin plasticises the surrounding capsule shell and helps control moisture migration into that fill. The delivery format is what glycerin contributes; it adds nothing to CoQ10 itself.
Vitamin E is dosed as an oil, and the softgel shell around it depends on glycerin to stay flexible through shelf life. A shell that dries out cracks and leaks the fill. The relationship is physical containment, not absorption enhancement.
Glycerol draws and holds water across body compartments by osmosis, and creatine increases intracellular water in muscle. Combining them has been examined as a way to expand total body water before heat exposure or exercise. The two act on different compartments, so the effect described is additive rather than one enhancing the other.
Glycerol holds water osmotically, and the retained fluid distributes according to the electrolytes present. Hyperhydration drinks pair glycerol with sodium and potassium for that reason. Glycerin supplies no minerals of its own.
Both molecules bind and hold water, hyaluronic acid through its polyanionic chain and glycerin through hydroxyl groups. Formulators combine them so a matrix keeps moisture at more than one scale. This is a physical property of the pairing, not evidence of a combined effect in the body.
Glycerol that is not absorbed stays in the gut lumen and holds water there by osmosis, while psyllium gels and holds water in its own matrix. Both support water content in the stool through different routes. Larger amounts of glycerol can produce loose stools, so the combination is worth flagging as additive rather than complementary.
