Why is this in my supplement?
To pad the ingredient list. It adds a bit of vitamin C and makes the label look more impressive with 'whole food' ingredients. Not harmful, just not therapeutic.
Is it better than vitamin C supplements?
A medium bell pepper has about 80mg of vitamin C, which is decent. But a basic vitamin C supplement gives you 500-1000mg. Bell pepper in a blend provides trace amounts.
Am I allergic to nightshades?
Nightshade sensitivity is uncommon and controversial. If you notice joint pain or GI issues with tomatoes, peppers, and eggplant, it's worth exploring with your doctor.
Red vs green: which is better?
Red bell peppers have about 2x the vitamin C and significantly more carotenoids than green. If you're eating for nutrition, go red or yellow.
Does this do anything for immunity?
The vitamin C content supports immune function, but you'd need to eat the actual vegetable. The amount in a supplement blend is too small to matter.

It is an ordinary green pepper, picked before it ripens, cleaned, sliced, dried and ground. How it is dried decides how much of the vitamin C survives. A juice powder is the same fruit pressed first, so it loses the fibre and seeds and carries some carrier powder to keep it free-flowing.
