Greens, algae and berry powders carry non-heme iron, which the gut absorbs poorly on its own. Ascorbate holds that iron in the reduced ferrous state and counteracts binding by the phytate and polyphenols sitting in the same powder. Many blends already carry acerola or camu camu for this reason. The interaction is on absorption, not on iron status as an outcome.

Superfood Blend + Fish oilEstablished pharmacology: carotenoids and chlorophyll derivatives are lipophilic and need dietary fat for micellar uptake.

Beta-carotene, lutein and zeaxanthin from a greens powder need a fat phase to partition into mixed micelles. A fat-free glass of water plus powder gives less of them to the enterocyte than the same powder taken with a meal or a fat source. This is an absorption argument, not a claim about any downstream measure.
