The standard non aqueous suspension base for a softgel fill is a wax plus a phospholipid emulsifier. Beeswax raises the yield point so powder stays suspended, and lecithin wets the powder surface so it disperses instead of clumping.
Sunflower lecithin plays the same wetting and dispersing role as soy lecithin in a beeswax structured oil fill, for formulas avoiding soy. The wax holds structure, the phospholipid keeps particles apart.
Beeswax thickens medium chain triglyceride oil into a semi solid at a few percent by forming a wax crystal network. This is how liquid fills are kept from separating or leaking.
Crystalline CoQ10 settles out of a plain oil fill over shelf life. A beeswax thickened base holds the crystals in place so each capsule delivers the declared amount.
Beeswax sits in the fill while gelatin forms the shell around it, and the wax raises fill viscosity so the seal is not stressed during encapsulation. The pairing is structural rather than physiological.

Beta-carotene degrades on exposure to oxygen and light. A wax matrix physically limits oxygen contact and separates the pigment from reactive neighbours in the fill. Colour retention over shelf life is the measurable result. The wax is a barrier, not a nutrient.
Carnauba melts far higher than beeswax and gives hardness and gloss, while beeswax gives pliability and lowers brittleness. Blending the two sets a coating that neither achieves alone. Both are used as glazing agents with no nutritional role. The pairing is coating science.
Crude beeswax and propolis both originate in the hive and can retain trace pollen and bee-derived proteins depending on how thoroughly they are refined. Pharmaceutical-grade white beeswax is filtered and bleached, which reduces but does not by itself document elimination of those residues.
