Most supplements offer 25-50mg. Studies often use much higher doses, around 100-500mg. Start low (25mg) and see how you feel.

A gentle settling is reported within one to two hours of a dose. Changes in how the week's sleep runs build over several weeks of nightly use.

Alpha-tocopherol terminates lipid peroxidation chains in membranes, the same compartment a lipophilic biphenol occupies. Tocopherol also protects an oil-based honokiol preparation from oxidation during shelf life. The second role is formulation, the first is network chemistry.

Honokiol is a biphenolic neolignan built from two allyl-substituted phenol rings joined by a carbon-carbon bond. Magnolol is its positional isomer, differing only in where the hydroxyl groups sit on the biphenyl system.
